Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to process an application?

Applications are processed once they are complete. Please make sure to send all the required documents to complete your application.

Do I need to take an English language proficiency test?

All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, the language of instruction at LAU. Most applicants must satisfy this requirement by passing the EEE (English Entrance Exam) at LAU or the International TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Applicants from recognized universities where the language of instruction is English, however, may be exempt.

Does LAU require applicants to submit GRE or GMAT scores?

Yes, graduate applicants are required to sit for the relevant entrance exam.

  • Applicants to the graduate programs in the School of Engineering must submit official GRE scores.
  • Applicants to the MBA program in the Adnan Kassar School of Business must submit official GMAT scores if required.

What are the GRE, GMAT, IELTS and TOEFL test dates? Are they given at LAU?

Test dates vary by location. They are not offered at LAU. Please visit the relevant website for information on how to register for the exams:

GRE: www.ets.org/gre
GMAT: www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT
TOEFL: www.ets.org/toefl
IELTS:  www.ielts.org

What are the minimum GRE and GMAT scores required to apply to LAU?

These scores are set by the Graduate Admissions Council and may vary from school to school and from year to year.

Where should I have my test scores sent?

You can either submit your score to the Admissions Office on the campus you intend to join, or once you register for these tests, select LAU as the institution to have your scores sent to it. For the TOEFL, LAU’s code is 2595. On the GMAT and GRE exams, LAU’s code is 0954.

How will I be notified of the university’s decision?

Once all files are processed, applicants are notified of the admissions decisions by the Admissions Office of the campus to which they have applied.

How do I apply for financial aid?

Financial aid is offered in the form of graduate assistantships. You may apply for an assistantship at the relevant departments. For medical school financial aid, you may fill out a special application form at the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office on your campus.
